Well, not exactly new as it’s already been released on May 3, 2018. The progressive metallers from Italy present with Endesires their third album after Dreamwars from 2017 and their debut In Distant Oceans from 2015. With Endesires the new vocalist Clara is presented, her voice is clear and powerful and she provides a lot of character to the songs.
Clara is capable of directing the different structures the other members create into solid songs that have head and tale. The progressive rock has ambient elements but the songs are also easily turned into aggressive music. I took some time to explore their back catalog, awesome albums but more on the moody side. With Endesires the band clearly did explore more ground and the result is almost a one-hour long representation of their skills and capabilities.
Although Endesires at a first listen may sound a little uncomfortable, it’s an album that definitely grows onto you and probably becomes one of your fave albums of 2018. Arya really shows with Endesires that experimenting with complexity can turn out in highly enjoyable songs. And one more positive point from Endesires, the production has some raw edges and that makes that the music becomes more reachable, more alive.
