Sometimes I get too many emails, or better said, I get too many emails and not only sometimes. That’s the downside of an online magazine/blog and the sad part of it is that you don’t always oversee everything that’s in the email box and albums are already released before I have the change to listen to them, that happened to Ashes Arise’s album and also to this beautiful gem, Mire Exhumed.
Already introduced Choral Hearse on the weekly New Music Monday when they released their first single and now their debut album Mire Exhumed is out. Call it progressive, call it post doom or you can even call it witch metal but one thing is for sure, this is interesting.
The all-female foursome comes from all over the world and is now based in Germany from where Mire Exhumed was born. Sad melancholy is woven into progressive rock with a jazzy feel and sometimes the demon comes out and things get heavy and scary.
Choral Hearse is so much more than just a band within a certain genre, singer-songwriting, occult rock, doom, jazz, progressive rock and even black metal parts can be found on Mire Exhumed. The only thing I couldn’t discover on Mire Exhumed is disco! And even if there was disco on Mire Exhumed, it would probably sound awesome.
Do yourself a favor, dive deep into the world of Choral Hearse and be part of this unique footprint that Choral Hearse created for the music scene.
