With guest appearances by Thomas Vikström (Therion, ex. Candlemas) & Ronny Hemlin (Tad Morose) Hexed from Sweden delivers with Netherworld a strong and powerful album that don’t need those guest appearances to be a strong and powerful album.
After an EP in 2017 and four released singles spread over 2016 and 2017 the time was right for Hexed to release it’s debut full-lenght. After listening to it for a week or so i can honestly say that Netherworld is an amazing album. At a first listen you won’t agree with me about that but give it time, listen a few more times and you will notice that the catchy chorus lines are really catchy and already nested themselves deep inside your brain. The powerful vocals from Tina sound pleasant and are on the right times accompanied by the little more harsh vocals from Stellan who is also responsibly for the lead guitar.
Hexed’s music has it’s roots in heavy metal but due to the loads of melody and progressive elements it’s so much more than heavy metal. Netherworld has heavy riffs on it but easily switches to more accessible parts and Tina’s voice has a wide range also, she easily switches between an heavy style and emotional parts.
Like said before, amazing album that’s a pleasure to listen to right now and still will be a pleasure to listen to in the coming years.
