The mix of black, doom and crust punk gained Japanese Gallhammer lots of attention. The latest release from Gallhammer was in 2011 when their latest full-lenght, The End, was released via Peaceville Records. Gallhammer has been on Peaceville Records since 2007 when they released an compilation CD and DVD called The Dawn of… with demo and live recordings. Before the Peaceville Records era Gallhammer released their debut full-lenght, Gloomy Lights, via Goatsucker Records in 2004 and before that Gallhammer released 4 demos, 2 of them in 2004 and the first two in 2003.
Gallhammer started in 2003 and members came from bands such as Meat Slave and Death Comes Along. With Mika Penetrator on guitar and vocals, Vivian Slaughter on bass and vocals and Risa Reaper on drums and vocals they recorded the second full-lenght Ill Innocence in 2007, the EP Beyond the Hatred and the EP A Taste of Despair in 2010. The A Taste of Despair was the latest recording with Mika in the line up, she left Gallhammer after this recording and Vivian and Risa continued as an duo and recorder the third full-lenght The End.
According to official facebook statements from Vivian is Gallhammer on hold nowadays and Vivian is working on electronic music and lives in Norway.
