Shadowsrise’s self-titled debut full-length has so much energy it almost catch fire when listening to it. This young band from The Netherlands operates in the symphonic power metal field but crosses easily borders to death metal. After an successful EP in 2016 it’s now time to introduce the world to more of Shadowrise’s music with an full-length.
I started listening to Shadowrise’s album while reading an book about SEO (search engine optimization) for the Vokills website. Yeah, running an website is not only writing about music, it also has to be found by the readers and with millions of websites nowadays that’s not so easy anymore. So to get the best promotion (readers) for the bands it’s important that readers easily can find the website and that’s where SEO helps. But I’m going off-track here.
Shadowrise is heavy, symphonic, epic and has blastbeats, screams and growls and clean singing, stunning guitar solo’s, punchy basslines and that’s only Lost in Time, the first song on the album. Can you imagine reading an book while your ears have to digest all the above? So SEO had to wait a little while I listened to the whole album sitting down and doing nothing. There’s so much going on that you need to listen with the right mindset to fully appreciate Shadowrise, otherwise you’ll miss out on certain parts of the music and the whole structure.
Not one song on the album sounds the same and even in every song the band manages to incorporate ballad pieces followed by full scale war parts. When comparing Shadowrise to other bands, what pop’s up in my mind are bands like Ayreon, Mayan, Septic Flesh among others. I don’t think that Shadowrise is at the same level as those bands but with the next album they will probably come really close. For now, the debut full-length is already a real treat and something that the band can be proud of.
And did you know that sharing this post on social media does wonders for SEO? So help Shadowrise by sharing this post so that others also can find Shadowrise’s music.
