The best way to start the week is with these new songs. We’ve piled them up for your listening pleasure, the best tracks released the last few days in metal, gothic, electronic, punk, hardcore and every other related underground music with female vocals. There’s also a Spotify playlist from Vokills with those new songs which will be updated each week.
Qntal – Nachtblume
In 1992, Qntal surprised everyone in the medieval music scene with their song Ad Mortem Festinamus which became instantly a club hit. Qntal took inspiration from Llibre Vermell de Montserrat, a collection of late medieval songs from the 14th century and amazed the audience using electronic sounds and powerful beats with the engaging soprano vocals from Syrah. The first album was simply called Qntal I and in March Qntal VIII will be released, four years after the release of Qntal VII finally a new Qntal album.

Zola Jesus – Bound
Singer and producer Zika Rosa Danilova, also known as Zola Jesus, delivered with last year’s album Okovi something that’s still on rotation at my house. With Okovi: Additions it shall not be different, Okovi: Additions is a collection of previously unreleased tracks and remixes, including one from metal band Wolves in the Throne Room.

Kosm – Ancient Heart
Kosm is an progressive metal band out of Vancouver British Columbia. Ancient Heart is their first single and is suspected to be followed up by Cosmonaut, the debut full-length which is to be expected later this year. Vocalist Jessie sings mostly clean but can deliver an deadly growl every now and then. Excellent stuff and a band to keep an eye on.
