After their debut full-lenght Moros in 2015 Eye of Nix from Seattle returned with their sophomore album Black Somnia. Did you ever feel uncomfortable when you were alone, a little bit scared perhaps? Don’t listen to Black Somnia then when you have that feeling again.
Or maybe you should cause it might cheer you up. Confused about wether you should listen or not to Black Somnia after reading this? Welcome to the world of Black Somnia.
What you get is a dazzling album filled with confusion or maybe i should say fusion. Avantgarde doom in it’s most pure form, a work of art put together from extreme metal styles with a spooky gloom that’s at the same time scary, beautiful, ghostly, dark, painful, liberating and… Interesting!
I can’t promise you that Eye of Nix will cheer you up with Black Somnia but i can tell you it will be worth the listen, over and over again. Do yourself a favor and buy the LP format as it have some real beautiful artwork featuring photography by Anima Nocturna (Carlos Melgoza).
